Great summary. Very insightful. Can't wait to see what you cut from your pack.
Over the last 2 years we too have prioritized comfort. If the stay is more than one night it must be at least a queen bed or 2 twins, prefer king (we didn't even have a king at home). Ideally there is a second bedroom. Ron has lots of sleep issues and separate space helps us both when he is restless. If we are somewhere longer than 2 weeks and rent a car we buy pillows. We travel with silk pillowcases and mite covers.
Honestly this means we had to increase our budget. But with the way the US stock market has been in the 6 years of retirement that works.
We also prioritize long stays several times a year. In 2025 we did two longish cruises, one 11 week rental in Ecuador, one 9 week petsit in california and 2 months in Ajijic Mexico (moved 3 times but intercity so easy) that makes the faster travel in between better.
Thanks for sharing your year-end musings, Chris. One way I bring more world music into my life is through Radio Garden, a free app of all the radio stations in the world. It's fun to "spin the dial" and head what's playing on Jamaica, Bulgaria or Uruguay.
We can only dream of traveling as light as you! We set off for three months in the Canary Islands a few days ago with two knapsacks, two dogs, two dogs carriers and two large suitcases weighing 50 lbs each! To be fair, a sizeable amount of suitcase space was dedicated to dog gear and supplies, including 6 lbs of dog food that we decided to bring along (saving us a trip to the pet supply store upon landing). 😅
Ha ha excellent question! In truth, there was some spirited debate about bringing the blocks along but I graciously decided to leave them at home - much to Gillian's relief.

You’re reading our minds about our next video on Sunday. It’s all about comfort and how to find comfort as full-time travelers!
I love your honest reflections and change goals! Great poll questions too. Thanks!
Thanks Matt
Appreciate your insights as always. And here’s to comfort! Everyone deserves it! Here’s to a new year where every human can strive for more comfort.

That’s a great tip, thank you Erin!

But the question is, do you still carry your yoga blocks with you? xx HNY

Thank you for this
