I'm assuming you'll come into Dun Laorghie on the cruise. It's a terrible cruise port. You'll have a lengthy tinder. But, Dun Laorghie is a cute cute seaside town. You can walk along the sea port and the coastal path in both directions. The good news is there's a DART station there. It's 2,25 euro each way. You can get Tix with your phone. Depending on the type of walk you want to do, I rec two things. 1. Take the DART to Bray and hike to the Bray Head. There's a cross on top of the hill and the views are incredible. The hike is a bit rocky and steep. 2. If you want an easier hike that's more urban, take the DART south to Shankill, walk the coastal path north. You'll be on trail, a little bit of beach. Sidewalk. You'll go past U2’s Bono's house. Then end up in Dalkey. Do the castle trail thru town (short), grab a cuppa. Then take the DART back to Dun Laorghie. Have fun!
This is fantastic info, thank you Chris! We'd heard about the DART, and it's great to have a recommendation for something close by. I imagine we'll decide on the day how adventurous we feel. Thank you thank you!
I have a hard time doing nothing! I will check this book out! Love hearing about Ireland. My Grandmother was born in County Sligo and hope to really immerse one day soon!
Schengen shuffle ! Yep. Saving this one for that.
Ireland is fantastic
Love the Aran Islands, the sheepdog video, and all things Irish! (I mean my name *is* Erin after all!) 🍀
Slainte!
Great post! Saving this one for future Irish travels!
Thank you
We're stopping in Dublin on a cruise and I'm wondering if there's a scenic walk or hike that starts near the cruise port that you'd recommend.
